How Ubisoft can use the Xbox to make its game more accessible
- September 3, 2021
The Xbox One is expected to debut next week, and in that time, Nintendo will add new features to the console, like a new console-based multiplayer mode called “Subnautica,” as well as the ability to run multiple servers simultaneously.
The next-generation console will also be able to play “online multiplayer,” meaning a multiplayer version of Minecraft or other games that run on a networked device, as well.
“The Xbox One will also have a much more powerful processor, which is very important,” said Jason Bergman, a research director at analytics firm Frost & Agus.
“There will be many more capabilities that can be used to make your console more responsive.”
Bergman noted that Microsoft’s Xbox One controller has the same buttons as the Xbox 360, which makes it possible for developers to use the controller as a way to connect to players.
“I don’t think it will change the way we do things,” Bergman said.
“If the console was more powerful, the people who could play the game would probably prefer it.”
Boeing’s Xbox has been an underperforming console, selling fewer than 100,000 units worldwide.
The company sold more than a million Xbox One units during the holiday season, and the company has said it expects to ship more than 2 million consoles this year.
The company has made a concerted effort to sell the console as a gaming console.
In a statement, the company said it will offer more than 500 games and apps for the Xbox One in 2018, including “subtle changes to Xbox One’s core game offerings” in the future.
Microsoft also said it would continue to offer “substantial discounts” on Xbox One games in the first quarter of 2019.
