How to get a Minecraft server up and running in just 1 hour
I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get your Minecraft server to boot up on a new server.
I was not able to get minecraft to work on a newer server.
However, I could get it to run on a server on my old server and get it working.
I have a simple setup.
I have the Minecraft server setup on my Mac, so I just have the following set of instructions:1.
Set up a server1.
Install Minecraft on your Mac2.
Install and configure the Minecraft client3.
Download the Minecraft Server Pack from the Minecraft website.4.
Install the Minecraft Java Runtime Environment (JRE)5.
Install Java for the server (see below).
Once you have downloaded the Minecraft package and Java client, it is time to install Minecraft.
The first step is to make sure the server is up and working.
Run the server-setup command from the terminal on your new server:6.
Select the server and then choose “Set Up Server”.
It will ask you if you want to install Java.
I prefer to install both.7.
Next, go to your Downloads folder, and you will find the Minecraft jar file.
It is at the end of the Downloads folder.
Select that file, and click the “Run” button.8.
Select “Java 7” and then click “OK”.
You will be asked for a username and password to log in.
You do not need to do this, as the server will be running with those credentials.
If you don’t have one, go ahead and create one.9.
Click “Install Java”.
This will install Java to your computer.
You can then open it up in Java.
If everything is done correctly, you should be able to click “Install Minecraft”.10.
When you are done, you will be greeted by the Minecraft menu.
Select your server name.
If there is a Minecraft logo at the top of the Minecraft window, click it.
You will now be asked to click the button to “Start Minecraft”.11.
You should see a message that says “You have successfully installed Minecraft”.
You can close out of Minecraft, and then go back to your Mac to continue playing.
If you have problems, please open an issue and let us know. Thanks,Joe
