Why is it so hard to play Minecraft?
The newest Minecraft update for Minecraft has been officially released, with the latest version of the game having received an update to fix a bug where the player’s server was unable to connect to servers on other players’ computers.
A message on the Minecraft website explains the bug has been fixed, and that the update also addresses issues that affected some players, such as the ability to log in from other players on the same Minecraft server.
A few of the new server connections were previously reported on the Xbox One forums and Reddit, with many of the reported issues not being specific to the Minecraft update.
While the Minecraft server has been patched, some players have been unable to access servers on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
While the Xbox Live account on the console can be used to log into other players’, a recent post on the Reddit subreddit confirmed that the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 version of Minecraft does not work with other players in that way.
As a result, players who previously had issues with Minecraft on the Playstation 4 have been reporting that they cannot connect to Minecraft servers on those platforms.
In a Reddit thread, one user claimed they could only connect to the server from their PS4 or Xbox One console, while another confirmed that Minecraft was not working properly on the PS4 and Xbox 360.
A spokesperson for Mojang told Eurogamer the server issue on both platforms was a temporary issue and that it would be fixed soon.
“The servers were configured on our servers and on each server, not on the server itself,” the Mojang representative told Eurogamers.
“It’s something that was reported in a Reddit post.
We’re aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
We are aware that there are some players who have been experiencing issues connecting to other players while playing on their consoles.
We apologize for the inconvenience and have taken this as a positive.”
