You Got Served Login error on your PS4 console
- November 1, 2021
When your PlayStation 4 console connects to a website that uses an authentication method that requires an authentication token to authenticate, the service can experience an error that states “Authentication error: Your authentication token is invalid”.
This error can occur on the server side when the authentication token’s expiration expires, or can occur at the console as it attempts to authenticating to a different site.
The issue occurs because the authentication server that runs the authentication system uses the same authentication token for both the client and the server.
If the service does not authenticate to the correct site at this point, the authentication service will automatically try again later, possibly using an alternative authentication token, or the console will attempt to authenticates to a third-party website that does not have an authentication system in place.
If you’re using a third party website, such as a WordPress site, to host your website, and the site is configured to use a different authentication token than the one you use on your console, then the error message will appear when you attempt to login to the site.
However, if the service you’re trying to connect to has an authentication solution in place, then this will occur automatically, and no additional error message or error will appear.
If a third source of error is encountered, then you can change the authentication protocol by adding a new server rule or by changing the HTTP protocol to use the authentication code specified by the new server.
To determine if the authentication method is supported by your console: Open the console in Windows or OS X, and go to Settings.
Select General.
Select Network.
Select Authentication Settings.
Under Advanced, click the Check button.
Click the Checkbox to check for support for the authentication provider that you are currently using.
If your authentication protocol is supported, then a new Server Rule should be created.
This rule can be added to your console’s configuration, which will also be updated automatically when new server rules are added to the console.
